Dr Julie
Dobbs
Associate DVM
Dr Julie Dobbs is a California native, born and raised just north of San Francisco. She has wanted to be a veterinarian since she could remember, and she considered all fields from livestock to lab animals but chose small animal medicine for its dedicated pet parents. Dr Julie studied at the University of California, Davis, where she first earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science before earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. While she enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, her special interests include integrative medicine, preventative medicine, dentistry, surgery, and behavior. While not working at Animal Oasis of the Rockies, Dr Julie runs her own mobile acupuncture business in Northern Boulder County, where she is happy to work on all species, big and small.
Dr Julie's love of animals started young. She began riding dressage at the age of four and has never ceased being around horses. After moving to Colorado, Dr Julie started learning about natural horsemanship and primarily enjoys trail riding with Western tack. When not riding, she spends her free time cooking, brewing beer, skiing, hiking, and doting on her cats, Toby and Chester. Dr Julie lives in Longmont with her boyfriend and fellow veterinarian, where they expect to grow their family with a bunch of furry misfits.
Dr Julie is so excited to be part of the Animal Oasis family and contribute to their excellent care!
